BOMA BEST 4.1 Applicability Tool

Determine which certification requirements apply to your building

Welcome!

This tool is designed to help you identify the specific BOMA BEST 4.1 certification requirements that apply to your building. By answering a series of simple questions about your property, you will receive a customized list of applicable questions.

It approximately takes 8 minutes to complete all the questions.

What to Expect:

The exact number of questions you'll answer depends on your building's characteristics, as the tool will skip any questions not relevant to your situation:

  • Owner/Landlord Occupied Buildings: Expect a shorter questionnaire, as many questions related to tenant management will be skipped.
  • Tenant Occupied Buildings: You will be asked additional questions about lease agreements and management responsibilities for various building systems.

Your answers will generate a tailored checklist of BOMA BEST 4.1 questions relevant to your specific asset.

  • Answer the questionnaire based on that majority scenario. Questions that apply only to the minority occupant group may be marked as "Not Applicable."

If neither the owner nor the tenants meet the 75% threshold (e.g., a 50/50 split), contact the BOMA BEST team at support@bomabest.org for guidance on how to complete your application.
