BOMA BEST Quarterly Update – Here’s What Happened

General Updates to All Questionnaires

E1.0 – Updated Not Applicable (N/A) Options 

  • Not Applicable – Tenant occupied building: Some or no systems managed by the owner/landlord 

E1.1 – Not Applicable option extended to buildings that are 5 years or newer 

  • Any new buildings will be required to submit the commissioning and measurement and verification reports to demonstrate that the systems were optimized prior to occupancy. 

  • Please see TUR 005 for more information. 

E1.3a Not Applicable option extended to buildings that are 5 years or newer 

  • Any new buildings will be required to submit the commissioning and measurement and verification reports to demonstrate that the systems were optimized prior to occupancy. 

E13.1 – Updated N/A Options for Owner-Occupied Buildings 

  • English: Not Applicable – Owner/landlord occupied building 

I2.1 – Question updated for clarity 

  • Question now states Do the measured Outdoor Air (OA) ventilation rates meet ASHRAE 62.1 minimum requirements and/or a minimum carbon dioxide (CO2) threshold of 800 ppm absolute? 

  • Any reference to 800 ppm is now clearly stated as 800 ppm absolute. 

  • Please see TUR 007 for more information 

French Language Corrections 

  • Questions E1.3a, E1.4, E2.1a, E6.1, E6.2, I1.0a, and I1.2 have been updated to align the Not Applicable options with their English equivalents. 

Office Questionnaire Update

E3.3 – Clarified Answer Option 

  • “Yes – ENERGY STAR Certification or equivalent achieved” has been added for better clarity and accuracy 

Light Industrial Questionnaire Update

I2.3 – Question moved to innovation section 

  • Question I2.3 is no longer required in the LI and OAR questionnaires. 
    It’s now an Innovation question (I7.3) offering bonus points.
